So I was super excited last night to get to watch not only one Nashville food truck on the Cooking Channel’s Eat St., but two! At 7 PM CST, they aired the new episode that featured Smoke Et Al and their amazing BBQ! They featured the Brisket Tacos, The Hammy, Fried Pickled Okra, and the Fiddler’s Biscuits. Congrats to Shane and crew! Nashville is SO lucky to have you serving up your amazing BBQ! Other cities should be so lucky!!! For a listing of all the dates and times this episode will re-air, click HERE.
Then at 7:30 CST, they re-aired the episode that featured Riff’s Fine Street Food! BJ and Carlos were holding it down with several items being featured including Jerk Chicken Kebabs, Conkies (I think I got that right), Codfish Cakes (aka donuts made of codfish! YUM!), and Tacos with Watermelon Salad. The episode is re-airing several times in the next month. You can check the Eat St. website for all the dates and times. Click HERE.
So exciting for Nashville!!! Up next is the Eat St. Episode that will feature Hoss’ Loaded Burgers. According to the Eat St. website, this episode is set to air on September 4th. We love Dallas and Peter here at NashvilleFoodTruckJunkie.com. So we cannot wait to see this episode!!! We hear the Red, White, and Blue burger may be featured!!! So you may want to visit the truck to try this out before the episode airs!!!!
Okay, so I know the headlines says Chattanooga Food Trucks. I’m going on a long weekend vacation trip to Chattanooga since I’ve never been. And I’m pretty excited to go to the Aquarium. Even got a “backstage pass” for one of the behind the scenes tours. I picked the one where we get to talk to the scuba divers as they are coming out of the shark tanks. It being Discovery Channel’s Shark Week and all, I thought that was fitting. Plus, I get to see the penguins!
And with the love of food trucks, Jim did a little research and discovered several in Chattanooga. What started as maybe 3-4 trucks just mere months ago is now almost up to 8. While we here in Nashville are spoiled with our plethora of fleet of street eats, Chattanooga is not. But the trucks they have look mighty interesting. So while we are vacationing in Chatt-town, we will be hitting up the food trucks for our meals. And I will report back to you on all the trucks we get to meet. From what we’ve seen there is: Taco Sherpa which is authentic Korean eats, Famous Nater’s serving up “F.N. Good Sandwiches and World Famous Salads”, A Taste of Argentina serving up the flavors of Argentina, Southern Burger Co. (pretty self explanatory there), Local Slice which is a wood fire pizza truck (but we are unsure if they are up and running yet), Monkey Town Donuts (again, pretty self explanatory), and Pure Soda Works which is self explanatory, but they are creating unique sodas such as Lemon Hibiscus and Strawberry Jalapeno.
Jim tweeted to Taco Sherpa about bulgogi. They obliged and said they would have bulgogi for lunch on Friday. So we know at least one dish we will be having. And I do love bulgogi. I promise it’s not just because I’m 100% Korean, but because bulgogi is just awesome. I’m also excited to hit up Pure Soda Works because according to their website, their flavors are super unique. I mean who wouldn’t love an Apple Pie Soda!!!
So the Nashville Food Truck Junkies are going on the road! And I will report back on what Chattanooga has to offer!!! But I will be back hitting the Nashville trucks by Sunday. We’ll probably go visit The Waffle Boss at Jackalope’s Drunch, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite weekly events!
Hope to see you all at the trucks! Hope you will try something new!!! What will you have today??
